Set up your social accounts for business
Most social channels only let apps post to a business-type account, so set yours up first and then connect it in Ollie. Each section below says what you need and links to the channel's own instructions.
These are the platforms' rules, not ours
Meta, LinkedIn, Google, Pinterest, TikTok and X each decide which kinds of accounts outside apps may publish to. The requirements apply to any business posting through any app or scheduling tool, not just Ollie, and 94 Alpacas can't change or waive them. For example, Facebook doesn't let any app post to a personal profile, only to a Page. Setting up these accounts is free on every channel listed here.

You need a Facebook Page for your business. Posts can't be published to a personal profile.
- A personal Facebook account is required to create and manage a Page.
- Creating a Page is free, and your personal profile stays separate from the Page.
- You need admin-level access to the Page you want to connect.
How to create a Facebook Page (Meta Business Help Centre)
You need a Professional account, which is either a Business or a Creator account. A personal account can't be connected.
- Switching is free and there is no minimum follower count.
- A private account becomes public when you switch, because Professional accounts can't be private.
- You can switch back to a personal account at any time, but you'd lose the connection.
- Linking a Facebook Page is not required in order to switch.

Threads
You need a Threads profile. You can create one by logging in with your Instagram account, or by signing up with an email address or mobile number.
- If you use your Instagram login, your Instagram username, profile picture and bio carry over as a starting point.
- Choose a public profile if you want your posts to be visible to everyone.
About Threads and how to create a profile (Instagram Help Centre)
You need a LinkedIn Page (Company Page) for your business, plus a personal LinkedIn profile that is an admin of that Page.
- A personal LinkedIn account is required to create a Page, and creating one is free.
- When you create the Page you confirm that you have the right to act on behalf of the company.
- LinkedIn may ask you to verify your connection to the company, for example with a work email address on the company's domain. If you don't see the option to create a Page, your profile may not meet LinkedIn's requirements yet.

YouTube
You need a Google Account with a YouTube channel. Without a channel you can't upload videos or have a public presence on YouTube.
- A personal channel uses your Google Account's name and photo, and only you can manage it.
- A channel connected to a Brand Account can use a business name and can be managed by more than one person. Choose this if you want a business name or a team to share access.

You need a Pinterest Business account. You can either create a new one or convert your existing personal account.
- Converting keeps your existing Pins and followers, and you can switch back to a personal account later.
- Business accounts are public, so a private personal account must be set to public before you convert it.
- If your personal account is linked to another Pinterest account, unlink it before converting.
- Business accounts are free.

TikTok
You need a TikTok Business Account. Switching from a personal account is free and doesn't need approval from TikTok.
- In the TikTok app, go to Settings and privacy, then Manage account, then Switch to Business Account, and pick the category that fits your business.
- Business Accounts are public, so anyone on TikTok can see your posts after you switch.
- Business accounts can't use some of the music available to personal accounts.

- An email address can be linked to only one X account at a time.
- You don't need X Premium to connect.

Still stuck?
The platforms change these rules from time to time, and their own help pages linked above are the final word. If an account still won't connect in Ollie, get in touch through Ollie support and tell us which channel and what you saw.
